Grass Spiders - Agelenopsis - Mating

Sharon was showing me around the Fylton Forest one afternoon when I noticed these Grass Spiders mating. I can report that no one died during the event as they both left in different directions.

Montana Six-plume - Alucita montana - Hodges#2313

At only 10mm in size, this is probably one of my favorite moths. One morning I found this one resting on the stucco by the door. They fly very delicately and after looking at its wings, I know why.

Bronze Jumper - Eris militaris

I can never get tired of photographing jumping spiders. When I'm looking at them through the lens they look right back at me. I've even had some jump on the end of the lens while I was trying to shoot them.

Millipede - Blaniulus guttulatus

One afternoon while we were sitting at the picnic table having our tea, I was looking at one of the Black Walnuts that had dropped off the tree recently. It was kind of fuzzy and sticky but I saw something crawling on it. I grabbed my camera and took a closer look and found this tiny millipede barely the thickness of a pencil lead. It turns out to be a juvenile of an introduced European
